¨For interested readers, an introduction to the tectonics and the volcanics of Northern Tanzania, written by the Ecoscience director, Dr. Ben Beeckmans, a volcanologist , can be ordered free of charge.

This text consists of a general introduction to magmas and volcanic features, tectonics and volcanic structures of the Northern Tanzanian Divergence and notes on volcano hazards and monitoring.

It is based on studies and field work by prominent volcanologists, and future chapters will be added with more details about the Northern Tanzanian volcanic field.
