During the month of October 2015, the Ecoscience director, Ben Beeckmans, has been lecturing again at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. The topics this time were physical volcanology, the East African Rift System and the influence of volcanic activity on our world’s climate.

Soon, the Institution will start a School of Earth Sciences, and volcanology will definitely be on the menu. Several students were happy to be able to follow these  lectures, and our director hopes they will contribute to the general knowledge of these quality students.

This time 8 students from several disciplines participated: Rita Alex (environmental biotech.) Talam Enock Kibona (physics) Jovine Malago (environmental sc.) Canute Hyandye (hydrogeology) Eliapenda Elisante Mariki (chemistry) Edikafubeni Makoba (geology) Lucas Paul (chemistry) Paschal Chrisogoni (environmental engineering) Pills
